So yeah, I wrote custom firmware for a Cricut CRV001 (I think that's what it is) so now it shows up as a serial device in linux and I send it GCodes and it cuts out solder paste stenciles from projector transparancies. It doesn't work very well but it's moderately useful for low accuracy jobs. Above: The machine. Above:The stencile it produces. Above:The stencile it produces. Above:the PCB I used the stencil on. As you can see, it has issues with how the drag knife turns it's radius as the direction is changed. Some clever pre-emphesis or de-emphesis or something is needed obviously. Or just put a laser on it. |
